The following are three excerpts taken from a transcript of police radio transmissions on Saturday night concerning the crush of fans at the Nat Holman Gymnasium at City College.

7:04 p.m. Police Dispatcher: I just got a call for an ambulance at - 136th and Convent. 26th {precinct} sergeant do you know - anything about it?

Sergeant: 26th sergeant. Dispatcher: I just got a call for an ambulance through 911. I was wondering if you knew anything about someone who needs an ambulance out there?

{No response.}

* * * 7:15:37. Dispatcher : 26 detail sergeant, can you advise the type of injury? {pause} All right, somebody, can you advise what kind of injury there is at 138th and Convent? 7:15:53.

Dispatcher: I'm also getting on my screen, at 138th and Convent, shots fired.

7:16:12. Sergeant: Central, there's a detail here, there's no shots fired. Ninety X {code meaning: call unfounded}.

7:16:16. Dispatcher: All right, now who was injured and what type of injuries?

7:16:28. Dispatcher: Unit that requested the bus {ambulance} at 138th and Convent, can you advise the type of injuries and who is hurt?

7:16:54. Sergeant: Send the bus, Central.

7:17:02. Sergeant: Central, it is unknown at this time. We request an ambulance.

* * * 7:28:51. Dispatcher: What's the condition? We have some aided cases. Can you tell me the extent and how many aided cases?

7:28:59. Dispatcher: The borough {command} wants to know. They're on the phone.

7:29:06. Patrol Sergeant: This is the patrol sergeant, central. You've got to raise the detail sergeant.

7:29:15. Dispatcher: What is the extent of the injuries to these people?

7:29:21. Detail Sergeant: Central, on the authority of the duty captain, no police officers are going into CCNY. EMS, when they go in, will ascertain the situation from security.
